Before heading out, make sure your dog is comfortable around water and okay with the sounds and motion of a boat. While a doggy life jacket is not required, bringing along a water bowl, some treats, and maybe a favorite toy will help your pup stay happy and relaxed during the cruise. Of course, there’s no grass or fire hydrants aboard the boat so please make sure your dog has done his/her business before boarding and be prepared to clean up any accidents yourself, should one occur.
Dogs usually love the fresh air and new scents, and it’s a great bonding experience to share something new together. Be ready for lots of curious tail-wagging and maybe a few surprised looks from fellow passengers when they see your four-legged co-captain. Of course, not all passengers will have the same admiration for your pooch so. please keep your dog on a leash beside you at all times and do not allow it to wander. Some passengers of various ethnicities do not like dogs while other passengers might have allergies or phobias so, please be conscientious of others around you and be prepared to relocate to another area should you be requested. Remember, it is your pet that is being accommodated so please be respectful. In the same regard, the Company may refuse entry for your pet if it appears nervous, overly rambunctious, excessive barking, disorderly or for any other reason whatsoever at the sole discretion of the Company and Crew. Ultimately, you know your dog better than anyone so, you know whether he/she has the required disposition for a boat ride experience.
Dogs (and cats in crates or carriers) are only permitted aboard the 90-minute ‘Jewels of the St. Lawrence’ Cruise only!
Boating with your dog is more than just a cute photo op — it’s a way to slow down, enjoy nature, and make memories with your favorite travel buddy. So grab the leash, pack some snacks, and get ready to set sail on a tail-wagging adventure you both won’t forget!
