Cruise Questions and Answers

Do I need to make a reservation?

We strongly recommend reservations. Space on the boats is limited and often times sell-out in advance. During the busy season, reservations guarantee your tickets are reserved up to 30 minutes prior to departure. During the slower season, advanced reservations help us determine if we have a sufficient number of passengers to operate the cruise. We are also able to contact you through your booking if we are unable to operate the cruise.

Do we require Passports?
No, none of our cruises stop in the United States so no Passports or U.S. Visitor Visas are required.
Where do we catch the boat?
Our operations are based in Brockville, Ontario. Our Ticket Office is located at 30 Block House Island Pkwy in the City’s historic downtown. Boats depart from directly behind the Ticket Office and all cruises start and return to this point. Enter ‘1000 Islands & Seaway Cruises’ in Google Maps on your mobile device for driving directions.
Where do we park for the Cruise?
We do not have an assigned parking lot. There is limited free parking adjacent to the Ticket Office and a reasonably-priced municipal parking lot at the entrance to Block House Island Pkwy. Parking in the City is free on weekends and holidays as there is no enforcement. Please drive directly to the Ticket Office to drop-off any physically challenged passengers.
What happens if it's raining?
Our vessels offer enclosed and canopied spaces to protect passengers from the elements so, cruises operate ‘rain or shine’. Cruises may be cancelled in the event of extreme weather in which case you can reschedule your cruise or cancel for a refund.
We reserved on-line - Can we go directly to the boat?
No, we require ALL passengers to check in at the Ticket Office a minimum of 30 minutes prior to departure, where you will be provided Boarding Passes for embarkation aboard the boat. We cannot accept QR codes or printed reservations at the gangway.
Can we bring our own food and beverages on board?
All of our vessels are licensed food and beverage establishments as such, we do NOT allow outside food and beverages on board. We offer a variety of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, snacks and small food items at the on-board snack bar. Cash, debit and credit payments accepted.

I suffer from motion-sickness - should I attend a cruise?

Generally speaking, the St. Lawrence River is a calm body of water and the Islands offer even more shelter from the elements. That being said, it really depends on the severity of your condition and the prevailing weather conditions on the day of the cruise. Feel free to ask our ticket office staff if weather conditions on the day of your cruise suggest you do not attend.

I'm pregnant - Can I attend a cruise?

Generally speaking, the St. Lawrence River is a calm body of water and the Islands offer even more shelter from the elements. That being said, it really depends on if your pregnancy causes you to suffer from vertigo, motion sickness or nausea. Prevailing weather conditions on the day of the cruise can cause motion of the boat which may exacerbate these conditions. Feel free to ask our ticket office staff if weather conditions on the day of your cruise suggest you do not attend.

Are the cruises appropriate for small children or babies?

Generally speaking, yes! However, we recommend our shorter 1.5 hr ‘Jewels of the St. Lawrence’ Cruise for children. Parents are responsible for the safety of their children while on board and must keep their children with them at all times during the cruise. Parents must also be mindful of their child’s conduct during the cruise so as to minimize disturbing the enjoyment of other passengers. Ultimately, you have to decide if the cruise is appropriate for your child.
